A popular comedian, Mr. Abidakun Ayodeji Odunayo popularly known as MCD2 said that being an MC is not an easy job and that it entails creativity to have a headway in the business.
He stated that anyone who calls himself a master planner of an event must have creative skills. “Everyone must have their unique skill and have their pattern of doing things. Fine, you can copy from people who have done it well before, you look at him and create something different. I look at people who are ahead of me, but creativity is the key and without it, success is no guaranteed.”
MCD2 is a comedian from Ilawe Ekiti but was born and raised in Akure, and currently lives in Ondo town.
Abidakun began his career at a very tender age when he did not even believe he could do it until one fateful day when he performed excellently well and that was when he started it as a career.
He has been to Lagos, Benin, Ekiti, and some places to perform comedy. Aside from comedy, this clown also involves himself in doing comedy skit, eulogy and he stated that all he does is involving himself in anything that will make people laugh.
“Being an MC is not an easy job because there are some people whose problems are quite bigger than talents, but I’ve always tried to pray ahead whenever I am going to different places, I give my best and hope for the best.”
He revealed that being the master planner of an event, his essential goal is to make fun and that whosoever hired him as an MC would not be disappointed. So he always tries to give his best on stage.
When asked about his unique style in comedy and how he gets things done so easily, he said….”It’s all about body language, the moment I hold the mic and after showing my talent, I will study if the audience is following me, I will know if they like me or not. But I have my particular style and whenever I hold the mic, I know what to do to get the attention of people.”
The Comedian also revealed that Gbenga Adeboye was his greatest inspiration right from childhood and the reason was because of his unique style. “He can sing, talk and do all kinds of things to make you laugh.”
He also disclosed that his greatest professional disappointment so far is that he has not received huge money despite what he does.
When asked to talk about what his dream job is, the soaring clown said he love to sing, dance, and do all sorts of things to make people laugh right from the beginning. “I don’t like boring moment, my dream job is to be an entertainer”
Regarding the assertion on the nature of MC’s job, some think that they don’t have a serious relationship and their marriage is not always strong.
The MC disputed this notion and said since his wife knows his kind of job, she would understand everything and there won’t be any problem with marriage.
“There are two different things that must be given due attention, work must be for work and the home must be treated as home”
