Residents of Osun have been assured of more inclusive and responsive governance as Governor Adegboyega Oyetola promised to continue to run a government that will be for the beneficial  of all and sundry.

The Governor stated this in Osogbo while addressing residents at the “Citizens Consultative Forum.”

The “Citizens Consultative Forum”, is a programme put together by the Ministry of Economic Planning and Budget to allow citizens have input in the preparation of the State’s budget so that their actual needs are captured.

The Governor, who was represented at the programme by the Commissioner for Economic Planning and Budget, Prof. Olalekan Yinusa said the needs and wants of the people of Osun remain his top priority in government.

He said his government has been and will continue to be for the people, stressing that every responsible government must always strive to give the people what they want at all times.

He said his government, for the past four years, has never failed to ask for peace  before embarking on budget preparation so that the State’s budget will contain only the actual needs of the people and avoid a situation where the budget will underperform.

Governor Oyetola said his government would not embark on projects that people might not need and thereby wasting public funds, hence the need to let the people participate in the formulation process.

According to the Governor, “We remain committed to running an open and transparent government, government should be for the people and what they want should be determined by them and not anybody determining what to give them.

Also speaking at the event, the Chairman, House Committee on Appropriation in the State House of Assembly, Hon. Taiwo Olodo while assuring residents of more dividends of democracy, from the present government, stressed that the best decision residents of Osun can take this month is to vote and re-elect Governor Adegboga Oyetola for a second term on July 16th.
