NSF heavyweight Silver medalist vows to back stronger

Ondo State National Sports Festival (NSF)silver medalist heavyweight boxer, Adegbola Adedeji has promised to participate in the next Festival stronger.
Adedeji who knocked his opponent out in 15 seconds at the rescheduled Edo 2020 National Sports Festival stated this in a chat with Sporting Hope at the state sports complex in Akure.
He added that with hard work and intensive training, coupled with the experience gannered at the last Edo 2020 festival the future is bright.
He said ; “no amount of financial enticement can lure me to leave Ondo State for other state.”
The National Sports Festival debutant revealed that lots of states have been coming to woeing him to their state, even before leaving Edo state.
He said; “everything is not about money but what i can achieve ,if I worked hard money will surely come, the future is more important than the immediate pecuniary gains.
“I believe so much in the philosophy of my coaches , they have a good plan for me, which is more better than immediate money offered by those that don’t know how I started.
“I’m here in Ondo State, I’m ready to work with the coaches that know me inside ,out and continue to represent the state, I have traveled across the country to train, Ondo State is exception, the reception here is second to none.”
The 91kg heavyweight boxer added that the he had gain more experience in his debut at the last National Sports Festival held in Edo state, saying preparations have started for not only next Festival but all-round competition.
He said, “It’s gold or nothing in the next festival, God willing, I will not settle for anything less than Gold next time. Initially I was not happy with the silver medal i won in Edo state, but I later saw more reasons to thank God for the feat.
“There are lots of people who have been participating at the games before me, who have not won anything, so ,I thank God, Nigeria government and Ondo State government for providing a platform for me to showcase my talent.”
“I was nobody before the festival, now people have known me to be a boxer, this is a morale booster for me”.
