ODSG pledges support for security agencies

The Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu has pledged more support for all the security agencies in the state.
The Governor represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Mr Tayo Oluwatoyin said this during the commissioning of projects by the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Tukur Buratai (COAS) at the 32 Artillery Brigade, Owena Cantonment in Akure the Ondo State capital.
Akeredolu thanked the COAS for his efforts in ensuring that men and soldiers morale was lifted and their welfare improved especially in Owena cantonment.
“The Ondo State government will continue to collaborate with all security agencies and the Nigerian Army, especially as we face security challenges in the country,” he said.
The COAS who was represented by Maj. Gen. Anthony Omozoje, General Officer Commanding 2 Division said the Army was determined to turn around the infrastructure of the Nigerian Army Barracks and the welfare of men, officers and their families.
The GOC described the vision of COAS as professional responsibility of the Nigerian Army in discharging their constitutional roles among others to rest on the very vital pillar of welbeing of the officers, men and families.
According to him, the COAS has continued to drive its programmes to improve the welfare of officers, soldiers and their dependants.
“I want to put it on record today that what is happening in Owena cantonment is also being replicated across cantonments and barracks of the Nigerian Army.
“There is no aspect of staff welfare that has not been touched. And in terms of infrastructure the hospital has been expanded and equipped with state of the art equipment.
“We were here July, 2020 to commission some accommodation blocks, and today we are here again to do the same, in addition to our renovated school borehole a fire fighter equipment vehicle approved and released for the use of this brigade.
