Ondo State government has restated its commitment to ensuring adequate security and welfare of Corps members in the state.
The State Governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu stated this while addressing the 2023 Batch ‘ B ‘ stream ll Corps members deployed to the state at the NYSC permanent orientation camp in Ikare – Akoko.
Akeredolu who was represented by the Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Mr Bamidele Ologunloluwa, said as a responsible government, the welfare and security of Corps members would be adequately taken care of during their service year.
The governor while urging the Corps members to do their best in enhancing the development of the state, admonished them to be respectful and honest.
“I appreciate all the stakeholders of NYSC for their numerous supports and assistance which has over the years, been sustaining the scheme to objectively and effectively deliver on its mandate. I enjoin you to continue with these positive mindset.”
The Chairman National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Ondo State Governing Board, who was represented by the Administrative Secretary, Ministry of Youth and Sports Development, Mrs Foluke Tunde Daramola said the Corps members deployed to the state should not exhibit any fear since the state is peaceful and secure.
She noted that the state is blessed with tourist attractions which includes: Idanre Hills in Idanre, Oke Maria in Oka – Akoko, Ebomi Lake in Ipesi – Akoko among others.
In her speech, the state Coordinator of NYSC, Mrs Victoria Nnena Ani, acknowledged the massive support received from the host community.
She enjoined the Corps members to participate actively in all camp activities and comport themselves as a responsible adults, obey all rules and regulations governing their stay.
