In a significant move towards economic empowerment and community development, the Executive Chairman of Ondo East Local Government area, Mr. Joshua Ogunduyilemi, has launched the O’Datiwa Youth and Women Empowerment Scheme.
The event, held at the council headquarters in Bolorunduro, reflected the administration’s commitment to uplifting local residents.
According to Ogunduyilemi, the strategic empowerment programme forms an integral component of the broader “Our Ease Initiative” of the Ondo State Governor, Hon. Lucky Aiyedatiwa, designed to alleviate economic burdens and foster sustainable growth across the state.
He said the programme was already having a direct impact on human capacity development, with the disbursement of ₦100,000 each as business start-up capital to 100 selected beneficiaries, comprising youths and women across the local government area.
Representing the council chairman at the event, the Director-General of Special Administration, Ondo East Local Government, Mrs Ajayi Olufunmilayo, expressed profound gratitude to Governor Aiyedatiwa for spearheading what she described as a transformative initiative.
Ajayi urged the beneficiaries to judiciously utilise the funds by investing in productive small-scale enterprises, thereby turning the financial support into a catalyst for long-term self-reliance and community wealth creation.
She reaffirmed the administration’s unwavering commitment to building a resilient and economically vibrant Ondo East.
