Ondo guber: ZLP shifts primary

The Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) in Ondo State, has announced shift in the conduct of its governorship primary election early scheduled to hold on April 18 to April 24.

It said consensus mode of primary has been adopted by the party to pick its governorship candidate on the new date.

The State Chairman of the party, Mr. Lawrence Oyebamiji, who disclosed this in an interview with The Hope yesterday said Dr.Abbass Mimiko is the only aspirant who have indicated interest to contest under the platform of the party.

The shift in the date , according to him, was necessitated as a result of the national assignments slated for April 17 to 19, adding that the party’s national leaders are expected at the primary.

Oyebamiji reiterated the commitment of the state executuves of the party to conduct free and fair primary..

Oyebamiji had expressed confidence that ZLP in the state is on the path to victory in the forthcoming governorship election in Ondo State.

“The ZLP will win the November governorship election by a landslide in Ondo State and I want appeal to the electorates to give ZLP candidate the necessary support to ensure that the party emerge victorious in the coming elections,” he added.
