Ondo to partner Teesas education for high-tech e-learning programme

The Ondo State Government has expressed its readiness to partner with Teesas Education or any other reliable organisation working towards enhancing the standard of education and the quality of learners in the state through quality programmes.

Commissioner for Education, Science, and Technology, Mr. Olaolu Akindolire, said Governor Lucky Ayedatiwa’s administration is eager to transform the education sector and ensure that students across the state receive nothing less than the best in terms of quality education.

The Commissioner stated this in Akure while receiving the executives of Teesas Education, a pioneering and innovative Education Technology firm committed to transforming education across Africa by empowering learners, educators, and institutions with cutting-edge digital solutions that allow access to educational content via mobile and web platforms without internet access.

The organization proposes to provide a robust self-funded educational solution that would transform the educational trajectory of Ondo State public secondary schools and has the potential to unlock significant donor funding.

Presenting the implementation plan to the Commissioner, Mr. Laolu Akindolire, the founder of the organization, Mr. Osai Izedonmwen, said Teesas Education has evolved over the years to become the only education technology firm that can implement education transformation intervention projects at scale, as evidenced by its current interventions in Edo State, Kenya, and Haiti in conjunction with the World Bank and UNICEF.

According to him, the core implementation strategy involves the deployment of an Education Management System (EMS), tablets for students and teachers, while all lesson plans will be standardized and delivered to teachers via the EMS and their tablets.

The students will receive class materials on the tablets and continue their learning journey on the Teesas Education app through access to curriculum-aligned videos and e-books, even when they are out of school.

Commissioner Akindolire, who lauded the vision of the founder, Mr. Osai Izedonmwen, said the state government’s vision is to provide quality and high-tech education that enables learners to compete favorably with their counterparts across the globe.

“The educational philosophy of the state government is to provide a robust and functional education system that will produce highly knowledgeable and high-tech resourceful learners who can stand tall among their counterparts all over the world. Our administration is ready to partner with notable and reliable organizations in this regard.”

The Commissioner, noting that the programme would enhance e-learning and make teaching and learning easier across the state, directed that a committee be put in place immediately to study it and develop implementation strategies.
