The Accord Party has officially affirmed the governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke as its governorship candidate for the August 8, 2026 Osun State election.
A statement issued on Thursday by the chairman of the party of the party in the state, Pastor Victor Babalola Akande, said that the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC’s successful upload of Adeleke’s nomination follows the completion of all required documentation and compliance with electoral guidelines.
The statement said, “The confirmation by INEC affirms the legitimacy of Governor Adeleke’s nomination and the confidence reposed in him by the people of Osun State.”
The statement dismissed earlier speculation suggesting otherwise.
The party thanked members and supporters across the state for their solidarity, urging them to ignore “misleading propaganda” from political opponents and remain focused on the election.
Accord Party also called on eligible voters to ensure their registration and collection of Permanent Voter Cards, PVCs, ahead of the poll, emphasising that active participation is crucial to sustaining democracy.
The party reaffirmed its commitment to people-centred governance, promising that Osun State will continue on the path of stability, development, and inclusive leadership under Governor Adeleke.
