- Governor’s Accord Party secures 19 LGAs, Oyebamiji’s APC, 11

The incumbent Governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has secured a second term in office after his Accord Party recorded a decisive victory across the state, according to results monitored by Sunday Hope.
The outcome saw Accord win 19 of the 30 local government areas, while the All Progressives Congress (APC), led by its candidate and former Commissioner for Finance, Bola Oyebamiji, secured victories in 11 LGAs.
Adeleke’s performance defied expectations ahead of the poll, with the incumbent emerging with a clear advantage over his closest challenger as results from the various local government areas were collated.
The victory further strengthened Accord’s position in the contest, with the party winning in a majority of the local government areas across the state.
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate, Najeem Salaam, finished third in the contest.
The election featured Adeleke of Accord; Oyebamiji of the APC and Salaam of the ADC, alongside other candidates.
As of the time of filing this report, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had rescheduled the announcement of the final result to a later time.
