Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has directed the recruitment of 1,000 additional personnel into the Amotekun Corps as part of efforts to strengthen the state’s security architecture.
Adeleke said the recruitment would complement the operations of other security agencies and tackle criminal activities across Osun.
The Amotekun Corps Public Relations Officer, Mr Yusuf Idowu Abass, disclosed this in a statement in Osogbo.
He noted that the initiative forms part of ongoing efforts to restructure the corps and reinforce its capacity to secure the state effectively.
In a joint statement, the Board Chairman, AIG Wale Abass (retd.), and the Corps Commander, Dr Hon Adekunle Isaac Omoyele, confirmed the governor’s directive.
They stated that this recruitment is the second phase since the outfit was established in 2020.
The statement further explained that the recruitment drive is aimed at enhancing the operational efficiency of the Amotekun Corps in line with its mandate. Dr Omoyele assured potential applicants that the entire process is free and without any financial obligations.
“Interested applicants can access application forms via the agency’s official website at www.osunamotekuncorps.ng or https://portal.osunamotekuncorps.ng/. Completed forms, along with relevant documents, should be submitted in person for screening.
