Our second term not for sleep —Gov

Ondo state Governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, has reassured the people of the state that his administration would hit the ground running from the day he would be sworn in for a second term in office.
The governor, who explained that his second tenure is not for him to sleep, also pointed out that his primary concern was to bring more dividends of good governance to the people of the state.
Governor Akeredolu spoke yesterday while playing host to a delegation from Arogbo-Ijaw Kingdom, led by the Agadagba of Arogbo-Ijaw, Imperial Majesty Pere Zacheaus (JP), in his office.
The governor also used the occasion to applaud the monarch for support given to his re-election in his domain, saying that the traditional ruler did excellently well to ensure victory for the APC.
According to the governor, the monarch has sown a good seed he must surely enjoy, just as he noted that his administration would not forget any community as government is fully committed to bring development to all.
He added that a lot of things still have to be done by his administration to completely take the state from the civil service state to industrialized state.
The governor also encouraged the citizens to comply with all protocols for COVID-19 prevention to stay alive.
He also commiserated with the monarch on the demise of his wife last year, describing the sudden death as a great loss.
He also solicited the support of the people to surmount the various challenges including insecurity facing the state.
Earlier, the leader of the delegation, Imperial Majesty Pere Zacheaus, said the visit was to congratulate the governor for his re-election victory, describing it as well deserved victory.
The monarch who also encouraged the governor not to relent in his efforts at serving the people better in his second term, emphasised that he has done well in his first term.
He equally appreciated him for appointing his subjects in his government.
