An economic expert has reemphasized the need for Nigerians to take pride in and patronize locally made products as a way of boosting the local economy.
An Economic lecturer at the Ekiti State University, Sanya Ogunsakin told The Hope that local companies that are engaged in the production of goods are cut across Nigeria.
Ogunsakin said if Nigerians patronize locally made products, the local manufacturers would not meet the demands of the citizens not to talk of exporting them.
He stressed the need for Nigerian manufacturers to begin blowing their own trumpets and challenge themselves by constantly improving on their products.
He urged government to ensure uninterrupted power supply to boost the economic development of Nigeria through the states.
He added that with improved power supply and adequate security, Nigeria would provide a manufacturing platform for citizens of the South East zone.
He also called on the entrepreneurs in Nigeria to contribute to the growth of the economic by investing in locally made products.
Ogunsakin said the state governments should be willing to partner with companies that produce locally made products to encourage them towards producing in larger qualities.
