Police quiz landlord, two others over teenager’s death in Ekiti

The Ekiti State Police Command has invited 65-year-old landlord of a story building located at Olujoda street, Omolayo area Ado-Ekiti for questioning-over the death a teenage girl who was found dead inside an abandoned car in the house.
Others invited for questioning, according to the police are two occupants of the building including the mother of the late teenage girl, Mrs Kehinde Olagoke.
A source close to the Homicide department of the State Command, said the landlord and others that were invited by the police are currently in the custody of the police assisting them for further investigations on what could have led to the death of the teenage girl.
It would be recall that the lifeless body of a seven-year old girl was suddenly found in an abandoned car owned by a co-tenant of the father of the deceased and packed at the compound.
The police said though the cause of the death of the late teenager was yet to be unravel was earlier on the fateful day declared missing easier in the day before her lifeless body was discovered inside the rocketing vehicle.
Similarly, a source close to the family of the victim, said shortly after the whereabout of the teenage girl was unknown, the mother and other neighbours quickly raised an alarm and embarked on searching operation to locate the teenager.
He explained that all efforts made to locate the deceased proved abortive, until when her lifeless body was found inside a co-tenant vehicle that was parked in their compound, about 8pm on Saturday.
When contacted, the Ekiti State Police Public Relation Officer, Mr. Sunday Abutu, said some people including the landlord of the house have been invited on the matter for questioning.
“It was true that a teenager was declared missing and the parents reported the incident in our Division at Ologede. So, all efforts to recover the little girl turned out unsuccessful until 8pm. She was found lifeless in one of the cars parked within their compound.”
He said the corpse of the deceased had been deposited at the Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital morgue in Ado-Ekiti, adding that autopsy would be conducted to unravel the cause of the teenager’s death.
