The people of the ancient town of Ikare-Akoko woke up on Sunday morning to meet the mutilated corpse of a middle aged woman who was murdered in a bizarre manner.

The woman, who  was slaughtered in a callous and wicked manner had her private part removed while parts of the intestine were left hanging outside the body.

The woman, according to some people, looked like a lunatic who usually stay very close to the cemetery, opposite Ecobank along the NTA juction on Jubilee Road Ikare Akoko.

The  scene  was besieged by a huge crowd that came to catch a glimpse of the incident.

Many people who visited the scene could not restraint their emotions as they shed tears,  while  cursing the perpetrators of such dastardly  act.

Some of the people said  the act must have been carried out by ritualists.

The Police Area Commander for Akoko Area, Assistant Commissioner of Police Razak Rauf who visited the scene said the woman was killed instantly before they removed her inner organ through her private part.

Police said full investigation on the dastard act is in progress  assuring that the culprits will be apprehended.
