Sales boy arraigned over N2m fraud

A 24-year-old man, Ayomide Shitu has been arraigned before an Akure Magistrates’ Court over alleged N2 million fraud.

The accused person committed the offence between February and March 2022 at Arakale Road Akure.

Ayomide was arraigned on three counts of fraud and other offences. But he pleaded not guilty to the charges leveled against him.

The police prosecutor, Adeoye Adesegun, informed the court that the sales boy stole the sum of N2million from her boss, one Yetunde David.

The alleged offences contravene Section 390(9) of the Criminal Code Cap 37 Vol. I Laws of Ondo State Nigeria, 2006.

The defence counsel, Adodo Ray prayed the court to grant his client bail in most liberal terms, promising to provide reliable surety.

Magistrate Olanipekun Mayomi, in his ruling, granted the accused person N250,000 bail with two sureties.

He adjourned the case till June 8, 2022.
