Sanitation: LG boss chides constituents for non-compliance

The Chairman, Irele Local Government, Mr. Olusegun Ajimotokin has chided residents of Irele Local Government for non compliance with sanitation exercise.
He equally charged residents of the council area to take personal hygiene, sanitation and proper cleaning of their environment as an overarching priority.
Ajimotokin made this statement while participating in the monthly sanitation exercise in conjunction with the staff of environmental department of the local government council, voluntary organizations and the security operatives.
According him, sanitation is one of the most important aspects of community well-being because it protects human health, extends life spans, and is documented to provide benefits to the economy.
He expressed his dissatisfaction at the non compliance of residents most especially in Irele Community who were busy going about their daily activities without observing the sanitation rules or participating in the exercise by clearing their surroundings and removing refuses and wastes from their drainages, adding that the removal of refuse and wastes from the drainages would actually allow free flow of water whenever it rained which helps in checking flooding.
He further, urged the good people of Irele Local Government to always observe sanitary rules and stop dumping polythene bags on the drainages saying that it could result to ill heath adding that most of the diseases were caused by the blockage of the drainages.
He, therefore, promised thorough public awareness in the next sanitation exercise and vowed to frown at non compliance by residents.
