Remo Stars have picked the last Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) promotion ticket after Niger Tornadoes, Shooting Stars and Gombe United had earlier scaled through.
Remo Stars picked the ticket after played a 2 – all draw with Bendel Insurance in the rescheduled match day 3 Group B fixtures of the NNL Super 8 play-off decided at the Cathedral, Enugu.
Despite the off the pitch troubles between both sides, the game lived up to expectations and players of both sides gave their all but it was a little too late for Insurance who needed to beat Remo by at least two goals margin.
Insurance started off brightly and their persistent paid off when Imade Osarenkhoe opened the scoring for them in the 30th minute.
Remo got back on level terms minutes later and with the scoreline even going into the break it looked more difficult for Insurance to the second period but they gave a good fight.
Remo took the lead in the 65th minute but Insurance levelled up in the 72nd minute to leave the final score at 2-2.
It was a beautiful show of football at the Cathedral on Sunday morning where it finished Remo Stars 2-2 Bendel Insurance.
