Summer coaching: ODHA lawmaker pledges to sponsor best student’s education

Member of Ondo State House of Assembly representing Ondo East Constituency, Mr. Olamide Oladiji has promised to sponsor the education of the overall best student in the just concluded free summer coaching throughout her University.
Oladiji stated this at Bolorunduro, the Headquarter of Ondo East Local Government while giving out a scholarship to a 13-year-old girl, Peace Omoniyi during the grand finale of free summer coaching organised by the lawmaker for school children during holiday, which featured: prize giving award of scholarship to performed students in the constituency.
He said the aim of the programme was to bring together youths and school students in the streets and engage them to refresh their memories during the holiday.
According to him, “the coaching centres are divided into four different wards include: lgbo -Oja ward 1,Oboto ward 7, Bolorunduro ward 3 and Owena ward 9,”
The legislator noted that youths must be trained so that they can be useful to the society and to themselves in future.
In his words ” I looked at a long vacation as a period of which i can bring my wealth of experience in academic industry to assist the people especially the less privileges in the constituency,”he added.
“We trained about 950 students both junior and senior classes in the four centres in the constituency to prepare them ahead of their school resumption.
“we are moving to empowerment, we have started with education and sport as part of the promise we made to impart positively on the lives of people.
“I was happy because the programme was successful and people turned out to embrace the programme”
Oladiji advised parents to always value and invest on their children’s education by supporting them finacially and monitor their education programme.
Earlier in his address, the Chairman of Ondo East Local Government, Mr Olawale Akinkuotu described the event as educative programme for the teeming youths.
Akinkuotu commended the present government led by Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu for his support in the education sector by creating enabling environment in terms of infrastructure for children to study.
He advised politicians to always emulate educative programmes that will impact positively on the lives of youths and people in their constituencies just as he noted education as a good legacy parents can give to their children
Responding, the beneficiary, Miss. Omoniyi, a student of Saint Louis Catholic Girls Secondary School, Ondo thanked God for making her came first in the examination conducted during the free school coaching.
Omoniyi, a Junior Secondary School student expressed joy and thanked the organiser of the programme for his decision to sponsor her education through University level.
