Two herders in court for killing farmer

Two herdsmen have been remanded by an Akure Magistrates’ Court sitting at Oke-Eda for allegedly killing a farmer.
The accused persons are; Babuga Mallam, 28, and Manu Abubakar, 18
The duo allegedly committed the offence at about 2: pm, at Ajowa Akoko farmland, on February 5, 2021 in the Akure Magisterial District.
The prosecutor, Inspector Mary Adebayo told the court that the accused persons killed one Adebayo Festus, 51, by macheting him to death in his farm.
The offence committed contravened sections 324 and 319(1) of the Criminal Code Cap 37, Vol. 1 Laws of the Ondo State of Nigeria 2006.
She urged the court to remand the accused persons in prison pending the outcome of Director of public prosecution DPP advice.
The plea of the accused persons were not taken.
Defense counsel, Bawa Obafemi did not oppose the remand application made by the prosecutor.
Magistrate N. Aduroja remanded the accused persons in Olokuta prison pending the outcome of DPP advice.
The case was adjourned till April,4, 2021 for mention.
