Yoruba culture ‘ll not go into extinction – Oyetola

Osun State Governor, Gboyega Oyetola has pledged his support to promote Yoruba culture in the society in order not to go extinct.

The Governor made the pledge in Osogbo during a courtesy visit by the Theater Arts and Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria, TAMPAN to his office.

Oyetola who noted that the importance of TAMPAN cannot be over emphasized in Nigeria stated that their movies teach the people a lot of lessons and bring succour to many homes and lives that would have been destroyed.

He further stated that the movies produced by the association promotes culture, noting that Yoruba culture is very important and must be promoted so that it will not go into extinction.

He therefore pledged his total support for the association by including them in his administration so as to promote Yoruba’s invaluable culture.

In his address of welcome, the Commissioner, Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Adebisi Obawale while welcoming the association, stressed that the coming of the association to the State is very important as they can promote culture and tourism in the State.

Obawale further explained that the administration of Governor Oyetola has been committed to promotion of Culture and Tourism and it is one of the major keys that his administration rests on.

Speaking earlier, the President of TAMPAN, Mr. Bolaji Amusan (also known as Mr Latin), appreciated the governor for his kind gesture and showing love to the association all the time.

Amusan therefore appealed to the governor to always involve them in his administration so that they could contribute their quota to the development of the State.
