The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Ondo State has said that the 2023 general elections would be determined by God and voters not the governors and the lawmakers under the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, which he noted has disappointed people of the country in the last six years of its administration.
The State Publicity Secretary of the party, Mr. Kennedy Peretei in a chat with The Hope, explained that the defected members of the PDP to the APC lacked conscience and confused for leaving the party for the ruling APC.
Citing the defected Zamfara State Governor, Bello Matawallie Peretei stressed that the governor would have himself blamed for it.
He said the number of governors in the APC amounted to nothing and could not guarantee victory for the party in 2023 general elections due to the hunger, suffering and insecurity in the country under the ruling party.
Peretei maintained that the recent House of Assembly bye-election in Kaduna State was won by the PDP against the expectation of the ruling APC in the state to win was an indication of rejection of the party by electorate.
He said “as we move closer to 2023, it will be a surprise that Nigerians , they (APC members) took for granted in 2015 and 2019 will no longer stay with them any longer.
“The defection cannot affect the decision of people in 2023 and very soon you will see what will happen to the APC because the party is built around President Buhari.
“Intimidation of opposition with blackmailing to join the APC is not the best way to practise party politics. Party politics is about programme and activities of government to bring meaningful life to the people,”
The spokesperson, insisted that the people in the country have no choice than to rally round the PDP to rescue them from the impoverishment and trauma being experienced under the ruling APC-led administration.
