…as Aiyedatiwa names Abimbola

Ondo State Governor, Hon. Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has appointed a seasoned sport administrator, Coach Oladimeji Abimbola, as Chairman of the Ondo State Sports Council as part of his administration’s efforts to reposition sports development in the state.
In a statement made available to newsmen in Akure by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Prince Ebenezer Adeniyan, the governor also appointed Baba Tunde Martins and Ibitoye Matthew Abiodun as members of the council.
The appointments take immediate effect.
Governor Aiyedatiwa urged the new members to bring their wealth of experience to bear in promoting sports development, grassroots participation and sporting excellence across Ondo State.
The appointments come after more than 10 years without a political head at the Sports Council.
Before his appointment, Abimbola served as Head Coach of Sunshine Queens FC and as a board member of the Ondo State Football Agency.
He is currently the Vice-Chairman of the Ondo State Football Association.
Abimbola is also a club owner and recently obtained a certificate in Football Management and Match Preparation Analysis in Germany.
The governor expressed confidence that the new leadership would contribute significantly to the development of sports and the discovery of sporting talents across the state.
