AAUA students set record with electric bike innovation

By Akeem Salami

The President of the Adekunle Ajasin University Student Union (AAUASU), Oyindamola Samuel Boladale, has urged alumni of the institution to reconnect with their alma mater and support its initiatives, following a recent groundbreaking innovation by a team of final-year students.

Boladale highlighted the achievements of six students from the Department of Physics and Electronics—Abdulazeez Uthman Alabi, Adejoro Glory Isaac, Odetokun Opeyemi Oluwatosin, Adejunmobi David Ademola, Aladesanmi Emmanuel, and Olaniyi Eniola—who successfully converted a traditional internal combustion engine (ICE) motorcycle into a fully functional electric motorcycle.

The project not only showcases the students’ technical capabilities but also aligns with the global shift towards sustainable and energy-efficient technology.

“The conversion of a conventional motorcycle into an electric vehicle reflects AAUA’s commitment to producing graduates equipped to tackle real-world challenges through innovative solutions,” Boladale stated.

He emphasized that the students’ achievement highlights the university’s dedication to upholding high standards and fostering creativity among its students.

Boladale credited the project’s success to the relentless mentorship and support of the AAUA faculty, whose guidance equips students with the skills needed to excel in their fields.

“These achievements would not be possible without the dedication of our lecturers and professors, who continually inspire our students to achieve greatness,” he said.

The student union president also encouraged current AAUA students to draw inspiration from this milestone, challenging them to pursue innovative projects that contribute meaningfully to the university’s legacy.

“As we celebrate the accomplishments of Abdulazeez, Adejoro, Odetokun, Adejunmobi, Aladesanmi, and Olaniyi, I urge all AAUA students to strive for excellence and push the boundaries of innovation,” Boladale remarked.
