Six suspected hoodlums have been arrested by the Amotekun operation corps in connection with destruction of private and public property during the last month #EndSARS protests in Ondo State.
Those arrested include Afiwajoye Iseoluwa, Okunuga Olumuyiwa, Sunday okeniji, Omotubora Iyanuoluwa, Otunuga Gbenga, Femi Ibine and Oyewole Duyile
Briefing newsmen in Akure, the Amotekun commander, Tunji Adeleye said the suspects were arrested with military jackets, Axe, Motorcycles and knives in Okitipupa.
Adeleye explained that the corps would handover the suspects to the police for further investigation
He believed that the suspects would serve as link to other perpetrators
Mr Adebayo Ayeni maintained that the hoodlums burnt down police stations and other public and private property during the #EndSARS protest
One of the arrested suspects Femi Ibine explained that the military jacket (soldier’s uniform) belonged to his grandparent, late colonel Job Daniel while Oyewole Duyile said he picked those items to be sold out to iron buyers.
Meanwhile, a 30-year-old man Tayo Adeyiti has been arrested for allegedly stealing 15 sacks of kolanuts and a bag of snail by the men of the Ondo State Security Network Agency (Amotekun Corps).
The Hope Metro gathered that Adeyiti broke into the room of one Mr Ademilola Adesola who is a Kolanut farmer in the early hours of the day of the accident.
The farmer was said to have traveled with his wife to Ore were he lost his brother.
The suspects while speaking said that “On that faithful day, I saw the light of the room on, I went through the back door and 15 bags of Kolanut I felt it’s an opportunity to make steal them.
“I made sure I took them before luck ran out on me. I have been steeling my younger age that is the only thing I do.
Also speaking was Adesola the owner of the Farm produce had stolen he left for Ore with his wife but was called that someone robed my products and have been cought by men of the Amotekun.
