‘Be prayerful to combat COVID-19, Christians charged’

Christians again have been reminded of the need to observe a three-day fasting and fervent prayers on the coronavirus pandemic ravaging the country as directed by the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN .
The vicar in charge of Marian Danian Memorial Anglican Church, Ikun, Akoko Southwest Local Government Area of Ondo state, Reverend Cannon Foluso Ogunsuyi gave this reminder on Sunday during a church service.
Reverend Cannon Ogunsuyi said the reminder became imperative as the daily victims of the disease were becoming increasingly worrisome.
According to the cleric, prayers to God can do a lot of healings, discovery of curable vaccines and methodology of eradication of the COVID-9 pandemic as he specifically reffered to Ondo state where the state government is doing a lot to curb the scourge of the deadly disease.
He went further to commiserate with Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu and the entire citizens of Ondo state over the sudden death of the State Commissioner for Health, Dr Wahab Adegbenro whom he described as a tireless and very hardworking professional.
Ogunsuyi gave kudos for the honours done the hero commissioner by the state government declaring a one day public holiday.
He urged people to adhere strictly to all the global precautionary measures like regular hand washing ,use of hand sanitizer, use of nose masks, social and physical distancing, particularly the rural dwellers where many are showing care free attitudes towards the pandemic.
