Commissioner, TUC, farmers’ congress congratulate Aiyedatiwa on victory

The Ondo State Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Alhaji Rasheed Badmus, has commended the people of Akoko North-West Local Government Area for turning out in large numbers to vote for the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate and Governor of the State, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, in Saturday’s governorship election.

Similarly, the Trade Union Congress (TUC) and the State Farmers’ Congress extended their congratulations, describing his triumph as well-deserved.

According to Badmus, the outcome of the election is a clear reflection of the people’s choice and their unwavering confidence in the governor’s outstanding leadership over the past ten months in office.

The Commissioner particularly praised the electorate for their peaceful conduct before, during, and after the all-important governorship poll.

He also applauded the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), the security agencies, and all election stakeholders for ensuring a seamless process and creating a fair and conducive atmosphere where voters could cast their votes without any form of intimidation or harassment..

He highlighted the governor’s achievements in areas such as infrastructure development, improved security, quality education, youth employment, various grants and loan facilities for artisans, women’s empowerment, the prompt payment of workers’ salaries, bonuses, and other critical sectors of the economy.

The Chairman of the TUC in Ondo State, Comrade Clement Fatuase, in his congratulatory message, described the Governor’s resounding victory in the just-concluded gubernatorial election as a divine mandate. He expressed optimism that workers in the state would continue to benefit under the leadership of the worker-friendly governor.

The TUC Chairman highlighted that the union had previously endorsed the governor as the best candidate for the job, citing his outstanding achievements within his relatively short time in office. He noted that the Governor’s leadership has had a positive impact not only on the state but also on the South-West region.

The labour leader commended the governor for approving the N73,000 new minimum wage, which is set to take effect this month. He expressed confidence that workers and the wider public would continue to enjoy the true dividends of good governance under Governor Aiyedatiwa’s administration.

In a separate congratulatory message, the Ondo State Farmers’ Congress, alongside the state chapter of the All Farmers’ Association of Nigeria (AFAN), described the Governor’s victory as a testament to the people’s confidence in his visionary leadership and dedication to progress.

Speaking on behalf of farmers across the state’s 18 local government areas, Farmer Monilari Abayomi, President of the Farmers’ Congress and Chairman of AFAN, expressed optimism about the future of agriculture under the Governor’s leadership.

“This triumph reaffirms the trust of Ondo State’s people in your ability to drive the state towards greater heights.

“As custodians of the agricultural backbone of our state, we are confident that your re-election will usher in robust agricultural policies, rural development, and sustainable growth that will uplift the hardworking farmers who contribute immensely to our state’s economy,” he stated.

The farmers pledged their unwavering support for the Governor’s administration, emphasising their expectation of increased focus on initiatives that would transform the agricultural sector and improve rural livelihoods.

As Ondo State celebrates the Governor’s victory, stakeholders are anticipating a tenure marked by transformative achievements that will solidify the state’s position as a hub of agricultural productivity and economic development.
