COVID-19: We’re ready for advocacy role —Market leaders

Market leaders in Osun State have expressed their readiness to play advocacy role in the containment of COVID-19 in the state.
The leaders sternly warned market men and women on the need to maintain COVID-19 precautionary measures and guidelines within the market square.
The Babaloja of Ikirun, Chief Abayomi Adeyemo who spoke at a market rally at Ifelodun Local Government area, said they were ready to play collaborative efforts with the government in the advocacy role of managing the pandemic in the state.
Adeyemo specifically called on the market men and women to take responsibility in the containment of COVID-19, stating that market is one of the public places where sporadic contacts and spread could easily occur.
Also speaking, the Iyaloja of Ikirun, Chief Afusat Adebiyi commended Governor Oyetola for his frantic and decisive actions which have always been taken in the best interest of the state.
Adebiyi equally inundated the market men and women to be weary of COVID-19 contact by taking necessary preventive measures such as hand washing, wearing of nose masks and application of hand sanitizers, accentuating further that the market leadership would support the government in the advocacy role and would not take it lightly with those who flout the government directives.
She however, urged the government to help them in the construction of public toilet and water system within the market square for the benefits of all market men and women.
In his remarks, Special Adviser to the Governor on Civic Engagement, Olatunbosun Oyintiloye noted that the programme is one of the engagement frameworks of Oyetola-led administration.
He however, urged the people of the state to observe all forms of COVID-19 guidelines in order to make Osun totally free of pandemic.
