Cowrie Rugby Football Club emerged champions of the men’s competition at the 2026 Racing 10s Rugby Tournament after overcoming a strong field of clubs at the National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos.
The annual competition, organised by Racing Rugby Football Club, once again brought together some of Nigeria’s leading rugby teams and players, reinforcing its reputation as one of the country’s premier domestic tournaments.
Cowrie RFC finished top of the men’s standings, with hosts Racing RFC taking second place, while Ibudo Academy secured third position.
In the women’s competition, Ibudo Academy delivered an impressive performance to claim the title ahead of Golden Shark RFC, who finished runners-up, while AJ Sharks RFC placed third.
The tournament also placed a strong emphasis on youth development through its junior competition, which featured Racing Academy (Under-13 and Under-15), Golden Sharks Academy (Under-15), Ibudo Academy (Under-13 and Under-15), and Wolverine Academy (Under-13 and Under-15).
Outstanding individual performances were recognised at the end of the tournament.
Okore Chisom Victoria of Golden Shark RFC was named the Women’s Most Valuable Player, while Oguntominiyi Temidayo Kingsley of Racing RFC received the Men’s Most Valuable Player award.
Organisers said the successful staging of the 2026 Racing 10s further reflected the steady growth of rugby in Nigeria.
Beyond the competition itself, the tournament continues to serve as an important platform for talent identification, player development and the promotion of grassroots rugby across the country.
