A police officer attached to the Osun State Police Command, Corporal Rauf Fawale, has been reportedly beaten to death by officials of the Department of the State Security (SSS) in the state.
The Hope Metro gathered that the deceased, who was serving at the Dada Estate Police Station, Osogbo until his death had quarrel with the DSS officials who invited him to a joint in the town, last week Thursday.
The DSS officials were said to have beaten the man to a state of coma with objects like rods and sticks and left unattended to after the beating.
It was learnt that sympatisers later took him to the Osun State Teaching Hospital, Osogbo for medical attention.
Informed sources, however, hinted that the police officer gave up the ghost on Sunday at the hospital where he was treated.
When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer, Mrs Yemisi Opalola, confirmed the story but declined further comments.
