Eid-el-Kabir: Business activities resumes

Business activities resumed throughout Ondo North on Thursday after the Eid-el Kabir holiday.
A two day holiday, was declared by the Federal Government for this year’s Eidl Kabir celebration.
Government and private businesses were opened up for business as early as 7.00 am, workers turned up at their various duty posts while all private owners also opened for businesses.
School buses were seen in Arigidi, Ugbe and Ikare conveying pupils to their various schools, banks also opened for customers while local government offices were also opened for work.
The almost deserted Ikare township road by okada and mini buses came back alive for transportation while markets and shops opened for businesses.
The Chairman, Akoko Northwest Local Government chapter of Nigerian Union of Local Government Employees, Mr Olu Ijabiyi disclosed that workers have resumed with renewed vigour and commitments.
The Iyalaje of Ikare Akoko, Alhaja Risikat Mohammed, said that despite the harsh economy, a lot of people made purchase on food items, wears while ram business also thrived.
A muslim leader and the Chief Imam of Etioro in Akoko Southwest Local Government, Alhaji Ibrahim Oyeniyi lauded the arrangements made by security agents which made sallah period in the area crime free.
