Enahoro-Marcus emulates Moses, eager to play for Nigeria

ANDREW EKEJIUBA

Fast-rising and talented Benin City-born Liverpool central defender Louis Enahoro-Marcus has revealed his intention to play for the Super Eagles or any of the Nigeria national teams despite having a British passport.

The 18-year-old qualifies to represent the Flying Eagles by virtue of being born to Nigerian parents in Benin City, Edo State.

Enahoro-Marcus hopes to emulate one of the finest wingers to ever represent the Super Eagles, Victor Moses, who was born in Benin City and also a Liverpool alumnus.

Despite representing England at youth level, Moses, a British passport holder, always dreamed of playing for the Super Eagles.

Louis is the younger brother of Darrin Enahoro-Marcus, who previously played for Watford’s academy team.

The centre-back is beginning to make a name for himself at Liverpool, having broken into the U18s starting lineup in his second season as a scholar.

Overall, Louis Enahoro-Marcus has made fifteen appearances in the U18 Premier League, including eight starts this term, and received two call-ups for FA Youth Cup matches in 2023-2024.

He has been described as a commanding central defender who is composed on the ball and does not shy away from a tackle.
