Fayemi marks 100 days, empowers 6,300 youths

Ekiti State Governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi will tomorrow (Thursday), flag-off a training and empowerment programme for 6,300 youths in the state as part of activities marking his administration’s 100 days in office.

Dr Fayemi was inaugurated as Governor of Ekiti State on October 16, 2018. The administration would be 100 days in office tomorrow January 24.

According to a statement signed by the Chairman, Media and Publicity Sub- Committee of the Central Planning Committee, Mr Yinka Oyebode, Governor Fayemi will also deliver the “ State of the State” address at the House of Assembly in Ado-Ekiti, as part of activities marking the 100 days.

The State of the State address, is expected to focus on the journey of the past 100 days and the administration’s plans for immediate and future development of the state.

Other programmes slated for the one- day celebration include; the flag-off of the new Ado-Iyin road project and a stakeholders forum where representatives of critical stakeholders in the state would interact with the Governor and his team.

“The 6,300 youths billed to participate in the training and empowerment programme are drawn from all the 16 local government areas of the state. The programme is being organized in collaboration with the National Directorate of Employment (NDE),” Oyebode added.

“Governor Fayemi who has opted for a low key celebration, said his vision is to see Ekiti State regain her lost glory through huge investments in education, health care delivery; agricbusiness, youth development, infrastructure and industrial development.

“He believes this can be achieved through effective implementation of the four pillars of the administration’s development agenda: Social Investments, Knowledge Economy,  Infrastructure and Industrial Development; and Agriculture and Rural Development,” Oyebode concluded.
