Ondo State Governor Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu (SAN), has expressed happiness at the leading strides of the Federal Polytechnic, Ile-Oluji in Ondo State led by its Rector, Prof Adedayo Fasakin, among its contemporaries.

He stated this at a function where topflight academics, including members of the institution’s Governing Council and Management were present in Akure at the weekend.

Arakunrin Akeredolu recalled his visit to the headquarters of Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFUND), in Abuja, where he was told that the Federal Polytechnic Ile-Oluji was comfortably leading within the rank of the four Federal Polytechnics created at the same time by the Federal Government.

“I was at TETFUND and I was informed that of the four Polytechnics created at the same time by the Federal Government, Federal Polytechnic Ile-Oluji is the most thriving

“I gathered that one of the institutions has not taken off at all, while another has about two hundred students. Whereas our own in Ondo State, has over two thousand students now.”

While congratulating the Governing Council and Management of the Polytechnic for the feat, Arakunrin Akeredolu commended the Rector  for being creatively focused and purposefully determined to see the institution reach for greater heights.

“I congratulate the Governing Council whose Chairman and members are here. I must also commend the Rector for his hardwork and dedication”, the governor said.

Governor Akeredolu equally congratulated and commended the people of the host community  through the Jegun of Ile-Oluji, Oba Dr Oluwole Adetimehin for their cooperation with the management of the Polytechnic.
