I was depressed after Mum’s death, failed marriage, election loss – Funke Akindele

Renowned Nigerian actress, Funke Akindele, has accused her estranged husband, Abdulrasheed Bello, popularly known as JJC Skillz, of failing to take responsibility for their children.
DAILY POST reports that the former couple got married in 2016 and welcomed their twins in 2018.
In June 2022, JJC Skillz announced their separation via his Instagram page.
He wrote:
“I’m making this announcement to clear the air — we are now living separate lives.
There are still issues to resolve, such as custody and the wellbeing of our children, as well as shared business interests, but I believe these will be settled in due course.”
However, speaking in her latest interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo, Akindele revealed that she is solely responsible for raising their children.
Reflecting on her challenges during and after the 2023 election, the actress disclosed that she went through a period of depression, especially after her mother’s passing.
She said: “I don’t like mourning. When my mum passed away, I just wanted to get over it quickly.
” I try not to let myself break down, but after her death, it took a toll on me. I almost died.
“My heart was aching, and something happened online. For the first time, I picked up my phone and went live on social media.
“I said, ‘You all should leave me alone. Do I know this person? No. This person acted in my movie, got paid, and left. Why am I being accused of something I didn’t do?’
“Do you know what I’m going through? I lost my mum, my marriage collapsed, I failed in politics, I had to return to work, I have to earn a living and I’m raising my children alone. Yet you’re adding to my stress.
“So, for the first time, I cried. I broke down for weeks.
