Kidnapped victim regains freedom

A man identified as Usman who was abducted last Thursday, along Ilesa-Ife in Atakumosa West Local Government Area of Osun state has regained his freedom.
Usman, is the younger brother of Serikin Hausa of Sabo area of Iyere, a town in Atakumosa-East in Osun State.
The Hope Metro gathered that the abductors forcefully took the victim into a forest in the area.
The Seriki Hausa of Iyere, Haruna Tanko, confirmed to newsmen on Monday that the kidnapped person has been released.
Tanko said the victim was rescued through the joint effort of the vigilante group and the police.
It was also learnt that no ransom was paid for the release as none of the abductors was apprehended.
Similarly, the Osun State Police Command, confirmed the release through a statement signed by the Police PRO, SP Opalola Yemisi Olawoyin.
Opalola noted that the state Commissioner of Police, Olawale Olokode, alongside other security outfits, “mounted aggressive pressures on the kidnappers which eventually led to the release of the victim at about 10:00pm on March 28, 2021 without any ransom paid.”
“The rescued victim is presently receiving treatment in the hospital,” she noted.
