The Deji of Akure, Oba Aladetoyinbo Ogunlade Aladelusi  and the Osemawe of Ondo, Oba Victor Kiladejo, have urged the new Minister of State for Transportation, Prince Ademola Adegoroye, to make his impact felt in Ondo State within the short time left in the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari.

The monarchs gave the charge during a royal reception held in his honour  at the Palace of the Deji  at the weekend.

Oba Aladetoyinbo, who expressed optimism that Adegoroye will bring to bear his wealth of experience and education on the administration, urged him to make the Akure Kingdom and the State proud.

The monarch, who commended the State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu,  for facilitating the nomination of  Adegoroye, said the governor has once again demonstrated his love for Akure and her people.

On his own part, the Osemawe said he honoured Deji’s invitation  to attend the reception because Adegoroye is someone dear to his heart and assured that he will not disappoint his people in Abuja.

Oba Kiladejo urged the Minister to try all he could to influence the passage of a rail line through Ondo State via Ore-Ondo-Akure, saying this will be a landmark achievement if it could be flagged off before the end of the administration.

Responding, Prince Adegoroye, who thanked the Deji  for the  reception in his honour, said the support he has received since his appointment was overwhelming, adding that he will not take such for granted.

He said he had swung into action and started working immediately after his screening and has met current and former Ministers for briefing on issues affecting Ondo State.

Adegoroye also thanked Governor Akeredolu and his Special Adviser on Intergovernmental Relations, Mrs. Bunmi Ademosu, for the support they have given him before and after his appointment as a Minister.

The reception followed similar ones held in his honour  at the Governor’s Office and the State secretariat of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Akure, while a Thanksgiving Service was held on Sunday at the St. David’s Anglican Cathedral, Ijomu, Akure.
