A 24-year-old man, Emmanuel Dayo, has been arraigned before the Oka-Akoko Chief Magistrates’ Court for allegedly stealing motor jack.
Officers of the Ondo State Police Command brought the defendant before Magistrate Abraham B on a one-count charge of stealing.
According to the prosecution, the defendant committed the offence on December 3, 2024, at about 7:30 p.m. on Aduloju Street, Owake Quarters, Iwaro Oka Akoko, Ondo State.
The prosecutor, Sergeant Kehinde Emmanuel, told the court that the defendant stole a motor jack valued at fifty thousand naira, belonging to one Dele Aruwajoye.
The offence contravenes Section 383(1) of the Criminal Code, Cap. 37, Volume 1, Laws of Ondo State of Nigeria, 2006.
The defendant, who pleaded not guilty to the charge, had no legal representation.
In his ruling, Magistrate Abraham B ordered the remand of the defendant and adjourned the case until December 18, 2024 for hearing.
