During the raid, a car key was reportedly found, while a girl believed to be the girlfriend of the accused was found sleeping in the hotel room. But she was said to have explained that she came from Abuja and denied knowledge of his boyfriend’s drug dealing.
“However, the culprits later surfaced at the hotel and he was apprehended by NDLEA operatives,”it was revealed.
The State Commander of the agency who spoke with The Hope Metro through the command’s Public Relations Officer, Wilson Ekechukwu, revealed that Cannabis sativa weighing 343 Kilograms was apprehended in a dark Blue Toyota Camry parked at the front of the hotel.
He appealed to members of the communities in the state to support the agency by providing useful information on drug peddlers which he said will aid their arrest and rid the society off crime and criminality.
According to Ekechukwu, “As the girl is being held at the command, our men are on the trail of the fled suspect.
“The command will carry on more sensitization on the effects of drug trafficking and its users.
