ODHA commits Bill to amend 2021 budget to committee

Ondo State House of Assembly yesterday committed a bill to amend the Appropriation law 2021 to the House Committee on finance and appropriation for scrutiny.
Budget reordering involves moving inactive fund to a more vibrant sector of the economy.
It was committed to the Committee after scaling through the second reading.
Speaking on the reordering, the Majority Leader of the House, Oluwole Ogunmolasuyi who moved a motion for the bill to be moved to second reading posited that the bill is very important as it will add value to the state.
Also, a lawmaker representing Akure South state constituency ll, and the Chairman House Committee on Finance and Appropriation, Sunday Olajide who seconded the motion said that it was apt as the year is running to an end to look at performance and evaluate execution which always informed moving fund in order of priority.
He noted that it is very important to move fund where it is not active to area where it could be well utilised for the benefit of the people of the state.
The lawmaker said that to achieve what is needed as a state, the executive has done the right thing by seeking for the amendment of the bill by the House.
In his contribution, the Deputy Speaker, Rev. Samuel Aderoboye said the reordering is for effective service delivery , especially at this critical period that the government is trying to make sure that everybody have a sense of belonging and to take care of the need of the Citizenry.
On his own, a lawmaker representing Okitipupa State Constituency I, and the Vice Chairman of the Committee, Akinrogunde Akintomide said that it is appropriate to ensure that government do the needful, having looked into budget appraisal and efficiency of MDA’s.
He said that the important of the bill cannot be over emphasised as it will allow government to deliver on its mandate and achieve the set goal.
In his ruling, the Speaker of the House, Bamidele Oleyelogun said the amendment bill become necessary to meet up with the yawning of the people and make the state better in line with the Constitution.
He reiterated that the bill does not in any form alter the approved over 174 billion 2021 budget but just to move fund to area of priority.
He averred that the assembly will continue to support every move that will make life meaningful and better for the people of the state.
