ODSG cautions BEDC on
estimated billing, insists
on metering
Ondo State government has advised the management of Benin Electricity Distribution Company (BDEC) to commence the process of metering energy consumers across the state.
The state Commissioner for Energy, Mines and Mineral Resources, Mr. Razaq Obe, gave the advice while playing host to the Management staff of BEDC in charge of Ondo and Ekiti States offices.
Obe explained that he has been inundated with series of protests against BEDC for its unending estimated billing policy which the people have found to be outrageous.
Obe therefore charged the power distribution company to commence the process of providing prepaid meters for all power consumers in the state to stem the current hardship being experienced by some residents.
In her response, BEDC Head Customer Service for Ondo and Ekiti States, Mrs. Kunbi Labiyi said efforts were being intensified by the company to ensure that no consumer complains of its mode of billing again.
