The State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Ondo State Command, Mr. Olatundun Olayinka has sought the support of royal fathers in combating insecurity in the state.
The Commandant made the request at the palace of Olowo of Owo Kingdom, Oba (Dr) Ajibade Gbadegesin Ogunoye III during a visit.
” As the custodian of our customs and traditions, the father to all, there is a need for me to seek your blessings and support as l pilot the affairs of the Corps in Ondo State.
“Your support and prayers will go a long way to ensuring that we succeed in our mandate of securing lives and property of the good people of Ondo State.”
The Commandant who assumed duty a month ago hails from Osun state, pledged to key into the vision of the Commandant General in taking the Corps to a greater height.
Olatundun also noted that the newly trained armed personnel who
will be deployed to flash points in the state to protect critical national assets and infrastructure.
The NSCDC boss disclosed that in the area of synergy between sister agencies, we have elaborated on the collaboration between the NSCDC and the Southwest Security Network outfit (Amotekun Corps) in the State who are presently having a joint task force operation within the State.
While responding, the Olowo commended the Corps for useful services and dedicated efforts towards security issues in Nigeria. He specifically appreciated the collaborative effort of the NSCDC with other sister agencies and the Amotekun Corps.
” Security agencies are challenged due to the various security breaches. I am hoping that technology will be deployed to fight crimes.
”Amotekun is home grown, they know the terrain and familiar with the locality, and so, collaborating with them is a commendable feat.
“Be rest assured that we will cooperate with you and support you in any way we can,” the royal father promised.
