Osun guber poll: Osinbajo, Tinubu, Akeredolu flag off APC campaign

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Bola Tinubu have led Governors and other APC stalwarts to canvass votes for the party’s candidate in the September 22nd governorship poll in Osun state, Mr Gboyega Oyetola.
Speaking at the flag-off campaign held at the Osun State Stadium in Osogbo, Professor Osinbajo enjoined the people of the state, who converged at the stadium in their thousands to vote for the party’s candidate so as to sustain the party’s developmental strides.
“On September 22nd, I appeal to all of you that gather here and others who are not here to ensure that you translate your support for us to votes for Oyetola for the continuity of Governor Aregbesola’s giant strides in the state.
“The only way through which we can demonstrate our love for President Mohammed Buhari is to vote for continuity for more dividends of democracy”, he said.
Also, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu enjoined the crowd to ensure that they get their PVCs which would serve as their only weapon to vote for the party’s candidate, Oyetola during the forthcoming gubernatorial election.
While stating that Osun state has always been for APC and would continue to remain as an APC state, he urged the mammoth crowd who thronged the venue to troop out enmasse on the day of the election and ensure that Oyetola emerges victorious.
Tinubu who said the party has put all necessary arrangements in place that will give victory to its candidate, added that the State will continue to remain as one of the Progressives in the South West.
The National Chairman of APC, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, described the party’s candidate as a man trusted and tested who emerged as a product of direct and transparent primary.
Oshiomhole added that Oyetola is a man with capacity to create and imagine into success, who, according to him, had shown total commitment to the development of the state.
The National Chairman recalled that the state was in a comatose and pitiable stage before the outgoing governor assumed office, hence the need to keep the tempo of progressives on through APC.
Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu (SAN), while addressing the gathering, enjoined them to unite so as to ensure that the party’s candidate comes out victorious on September 22.
Akeredolu who said nothing can be achieved without unity, urged them to come together and vote massively for continuity which would bring about more development and transformation of the state of Osun.
Other Governors who spoke at the rally included: Oyo state Governor, Senator Abiola Ajimobi, his Ogun State counterpart, Senator Ibikunle Amosun and Ekiti State Governor-elect, Dr Kayode Fayemi.
They appealed to the good people of the State to ensure that Osun remains in the progressive fold in the South-West by voting for the party’s tested and trusted candidate come September 22nd this month.
Also the flag-off campaign were: Chairman of National Campaign Council of APC and Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abdullahi Ganduje, the party’s National Working Committee, Osun state Deputy Governor, Mrs Titi Laoye-Tomori, APC chieftain, Chief Bisi Akande, Musiliu Obanikoro, former Ekiti state Governor, Niyi Adebayo and Hon Femi Gbajabiamila.
