Radio presenter, docked over N210,000 fraud

It was a cold sweat for a famous Radio Presenter of in Ondo  town recently as he was docked for defrauding a woman under the pretence of helping her to get a man to marry  her.

The  presenter, Mr  Akinnubi Akinwumi and his 20-year-old accomplice, Mr Abiodun Oluwasegun have been arraigned  before a Magistrate court for swindling Mrs Olanike Omonijo  of goods  and cash  worth N210,000.

According  to the  prosecution, Akinwumi,  presenter on Kaakaki  FM in Ondo town, fraudulently obtained food stuffs and cash worth N210,000 from the complainant  with a  promise to connect  her with a  Doctor  who will marry her.

The accused  with others still at large committed the offence between  September  and October  31,  this year at Ifelodun Street, valentine Area in Ondo town.

The offence was  said to be contrary to and punishable under section 249 (d) of the  criminal code cap 37 volumes, Laws  of Ondo State.

The  defendants pleaded not guilty to the charges while prosecutor, Mr Charles Olagbayi sought  an  adjournment to enable him call three witnesses.

The  presiding magistrate,  Mrs Odenusi Fadeyi granted the defendants bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties each in like sum and adjourned the case till December 19, 2018 for trial.
