Fisayo Akinduro, Osogbo

A septuagenarian, Amuda Yusuf and a 57-year-old man, Musa Bello have been arraigned before an Osogbo Magistrates’ Court over alleged fraud.
The duo committed the offence sometimes in May 2013 around 2:00 pm at Lakanre community, Ayekale area in Osogbo.
The Prosecutor, Sergeant Bose Shoyemi told the court that the accused persons collected the sum of N370,000 from one Elijah Oguntade with the pretense of selling a plot of land located at Lakanre Area.
The duo pleaded not guilty to the allegations slammed against him by the police.
The offence committed is contrary to and punishable under Sections 516, 419 and 390 of the Criminal code Cap 34 Vol ll Law of Osun State, 2002.
Defence counsel, Kehinde Adepoju applied for the bail of the accused persons in most liberal term promising not to jump bail if granted.
In his ruling, Magistrate Opeyemi Badmus granted the accused persons bail in the sum of N300,000 each and two sureties each in like sum.
The case was adjourned till August 13, 2020 for hearing.
