Sunshine Queens of Akure on Thursday were forced to a 1 nill draw by Ekiti Queens FC in a testimonial match played at the Oluyemi kayode Stadium, Ado Ekiti.

Ekiti Queens got on the score sheet early in the testimonial match put together as part of changing of baton in the fountain of knowledge.

Sunshine Queens responded through Kemi Dominance strike few minutes into the break.

The second half of the encounter recorded no further goal as the match ended 1-1.

The wife of the outgoing Governor of Ekiti, Erelu Fayemi while passing the baton to her successor, Dr Olayemi Oyebanji revealed that they have made budgetary provision for Ekiti Queens to become a professional football club.

She urged her successor to work very hard with other stakeholders lobby the Governor to ensure the budget becomes reality by releasing cash. 

She said: I’m happy with the bunch of talents seeing on the pitch, we will not relent on oars to make this club great.

The wife of the incoming Governor, Dr Olayemi Oyebanji commended both teams for the display of beautiful football artistry to the admiration of the spectators.

She promised to continue where her predecessor stopped adding that with the support of all stakeholders that Ekiti Queens FC will go places.
