Plans are underway to transform Osun Babes and Osun United from being a liability to an asset in order to become less dependent on government funds.

Osun State Commissioner for Youth and Sports Engagement, Mr Yemi Lawal who disclosed this in New Year message prayed for the success of Osun United as they continue the race for glory in the Nigeria National League, NNL.

He lauded the efforts of all stakeholders of the ‘Omoluabi Giants’ for their perseverance, doggedness and commitment since the beginning of the league last year which worked well for the team to be among the title contenders in group B1.

Lawal urged the players and technical crew to take the bull by the horn and continue with the winning mentality till the end of the season.

“We have started exploring opportunities within our reach to turn things around for Osun Babes and Osun United which will soon materialize for both teams to be less dependent on government for fund.

“All we need is more patience, unity and understanding from the public.”

He further urged players and technical crew to put in more efforts till the end of the season as the race for who clinches the group’s sole ticket will be more fierce and tough.

“I want to welcome us all to the New Year 2020 with a prayer for success and injury free season. Our collective efforts, dedication and perseverance have put us among the title contenders from our group and we should not relax.

“I can assure you that the welfare of our players and technical crew remains our top priority even as we embark on plans to transform the team from being a liability to assets.”

Lawal wishes the players, coaching crew, management, fans and supporters a prosperous year 2020.
