Why I prefer Djing – TeeCash

Olatudun Tolulope, better known by his stage name DJ TeeCash has said that he prefer to be DJ rather  than a musician because of the love and the passion he has for the job.

Talented DJ TeeCash spoke with Friday Extravaganza about his love for music, how he fell in love with the art of disc jockey and his lifestyle as a DJ.

According to him, he would not rush into any relationship saying that he would wait for the appropriate  time to get married.

The Economic graduate of Adeyemi College of Education also revealed the challenges he faced in being a DJ in Nigeria.

He noted that the issue of finance in the business is what is affecting an upcoming DJ, “if you don’t have money to get the DJ instruments, saying it would be difficult. He said.

However, he stressed that his creative instinct has continuously distinguished him in the industry.

The artiste who hails from Ondo Town, in Ondo State who has been djing professionally for six years said that he want to make money and as well make his name to become an households name.

According to him, the meaning of this stage name is because he like money. When he was in the school, he did not have bank account, saying he keeps his money in his pocket where he can spend it anytime he wanted.

“My love for music is so much, I love listening to music, it has been part of me and I cannot do without music, but I chooses DJ because of my voice.

“I love the job and I have passion for it and I believe I am going to be great being a DJ.

“I love music from my childhood but I cannot sing because of my voice. That is why I choose DJ job to help people that sings to mix up their songs with melody.

“I started djing when I was in SS2 in my secondary school when we were doing inter house sport in the years 2007 but I started djing professionally six years  ago.

“I bless God for what He has done in my life, I have worked in different occasions and I have gone to different States to perform.

“I faced a lot of discouragement but I was focused because I still have a long way to go,” he explained.

According to him, his interest in djing is just to be in music line because of the love  he has for music.

DJ TeeCash said that in the next three years he aimed to  create a musical world where  he would be able to have a lot of people working under him.

He enjoined upcoming DJ to know what they are doing and be  focused, pray, practice very well and they should not allow anyone to discourage them.
