The Hope reports that they defected at an elaborate ceremony held at the ADC secretariat at Bolorunduro the headquarters of the council.

The defectors from the 10 wards in the area, were led by a former APDA chieftain, Hon. Fredrick Akinwale.

They were received into their new party by the ADC Central Senatorial chairman, Chief Akinlosotu, on behalf of the state chairman.

Welcoming the decampees, Akinlosotu said that the ADC was delighted to receive the new members to the party, while he explained that their coming meant they had decided to join the progressive train and stay with the party that stands for development.

“We are happy to receive these people into our fold. We want to congratulate them for leaving darkness for light.

“These people have realised that ADC is the party to be to enjoy good governance. I want to urge you all to obey and follow the party structure and be your brother’s keeper.”

Also welcoming the defectors, ADC leader and Federal House of Representative aspirant, Hon. Abiola Makinde said, “You are all landlords in ADC, and not tenants, so do not behave like a tenant. We are all equal in the party.”

“We are happy for joining us once again. And we want you to feel at home. ADC has come to provide alternative to governance in the state and Nigeria,” he said.

Meanwhile, ADC Chairman in Ondo East local Government, Mr. Adeniyi Adeoye, said the party is founded on the solid rock of Jesus Christ to bring joy to the people at the grassroots through good governance.

“We are determined to win all units and wards in Ondo East Local Government. and we have started on a good note. The defectors are grassroots and political mobilisers. So, we are happy to have them and ready to work with them,”

Leader of the defectors, Mr. Fredrick Akinwale, assured the party of their total commitment and loyalty, saying they are ready to work with the party in the council to achieve the objectives of occupying political offices.

He promised that he and others will contribute their qoutas to the party to greater heights.
