The emergence of the former Vice President of Nigeria, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, as the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the 2019 general elections has been described as an opportunity for the party to come back to power.
The state Publicity Secretary of the PDP in Ondo state, Mr. Ayo Fadaka, who said this in an interview with The Hope noted that the national convention of the party through which Atiku emerged at the weekend in Portharcourt was credible.
He described Atiku as a credible candidate including other aspirants in the presidential primary of the party as men of consequence, saying that they are all credible but one must emerge as a winner.
“With the emergence of Alhaji Atiku, we are standing a very high chance at coming back to power.
“By this action, Nigerians are now aware that we are presenting to them the credible candidate who understands his responsibilities to the citizens.
“A candidate that values the lives of the citizenry and will not allow any militia no matter of his or her pedigree to kill Nigerians at will.
“It is our responsibility to have government in place that will care about our nation not the one that we eat up our future,”he said.
